-- Today we interview another one of Robin's earliest students from back in 1998 who took her initial online SEO study course. Conducting the interview is Robin's business partner, John Alexander of http://www.onlinewebtraining.com and http://www.searchengineworkshops.comJohn Alexander begins the interview by introducing us to Mr. Greg Aldea of Unified Systems LLC...John Alexander: "Hello Greg Aldea, Thank you for taking time to speak with us about the early days of SEO and search engine marketing. I understand you were one of the very first students who studied Robin Nobles' SEO training courses back nearly 6 years ago. When and how did you first find Robin Nobles courses and begin your studies?Greg Aldea: "I formed my company, Unified Systems LLC in May of 1998.
I had been introduced to the world of affiliate marketing and wanted to keep my webs on top of the search engines. I knew there had to be a way to have your web pages on the top of the search engines and after doing some investigation I found a company that was offering an online class in SEO. After sending an email for more information about the class, I got a reply from Robin Nobles with the info that I had requested and I decided at that point to step into the world of search engine optimizing. I signed up for the beginning class and started there."John Alexander: "After you completed your SEO training, how did you begin to make use of your knowledge?"Greg Aldea: "After I completed my basic SEO training I used the knowledge I learned from Robin to keep my webs on the search engines for the specific keywords I was looking to market.
Back in those days it still took a fair amount of work to reach the goals that I was after although the techniques I had learned from Robin's online class, helped me to gain those rankings."
John Alexander: "Were there many challenges when you first started up (competition wise)?" Greg Aldea: "There was some competition when I first started getting my affiliate sites listed at the top of the search engines, but not like it is today.
Looking back, things were so much easier back then compared to today. You had several search engines to deal with back then, but if you followed the skills that Robin taught us, getting the rankings that you wanted were usually just a few weeks away."
John Alexander: "Could you share any memories or experiences that you can recall from your first days working at SEO?"Greg Aldea: "During those days there were not a lot of people that knew or were concerned with SEO. That was OK with me though, I just kept working on the webs for my affiliate business and over time the checks started arriving and kept coming monthly."
John Alexander: "How much has search engine marketing skills changed your business since you learned it?"Greg Aldea: "It was a couple of years after my graduation from Robin's SEO class that people started to contact me about their web sites.
They were upset because they had paid someone big money to have a company design a web site for them. The problem was they were not having any traffic to their Web site because their webs were not optimized for the SE's.
They asked me if I could get their web sites near the top of the search engines for what they were selling. Up until that time I was just doing SEO for my own web sites.
But now I was being approached by others asking me to help them with their Web visibility on the search engines. I continued to work with my webs but at that point, I started to take on client work too. Pretty soon I was having to turn down potential clients mainly because the work load was getting too big for me to handle."John Alexander: A lot of people are interested in hearing about some of your success stories? Do you have one you could share if you don't mind?Greg Aldea: In my experience there are two kinds of Web sites.
First is a company that is looking for nationwide, or possibly worldwide exposure for the product or service that they are offering.
The second is a company that is regional or local with the products or services they offer and only looking for business in the local or geographic region that the company is in. I was approached by a local company who is a distributor for vinyl windows, decking, siding and the like.
He had a Web site up for over a year but was just not getting any visitors. He asked me if I would be able to get his web site up to the top of the search engines and increase his leads for the local business he was after.
After speaking with him a few times and getting pertinent information about what he was looking for, I accepted the job. After a couple of months, his Web site started being listed on the major SE's for the important keywords that I optimized for.
In fact, the ranking turned out so well, that he was able to more then double his business in the first year after the optimization of his Web site was complete. Now when he calls me and I say ?HI' he will answer ?HI SWEETY'. Not that I go that way, so to speak, but he is just so happy with all of the leads that he is receiving after I optimized his web site for the search engines." John Alexander: "Besides building SEO skills through Robin's online courses at www.onlinewebtraining.com are there other suggestions you have for favourite tools or resources?" Greg Aldea: "I would say that for those that are looking to improve their ranking on the search engines the best thing that I can suggest, if they want to get their skills up to speed fast, is to attend a workshop sponsored by the Search Engine Workshops.
The amount of up-to-date information that you acquire from attending a live workshop, along with the hands-on group assignments are invaluable for your quest in attaining those top ranking skills. I also recommend the TNT Workshops that have been recently started to assist people who have
little or no technical experience. These are conducted by experienced, certified SEO professionals."
John Alexander: "What in your opinion, is one of the single most important things that people need to understand about search engine marketing, in your personal opinion?"Greg Aldea: "The most important thing that I can recommend is that you need to know how to do good keyword phrase research, as well as understanding exactly how to place those key phrases in the appropriate places in your Web site."
John Alexander: "Any final advice or comments for readers who are considering entering this field?Greg Aldea: "The best advice that I can give someone looking to start working in this field is to start by getting a good knowledge of the basic princples of SEO/SEM.
Find someone, like Robin, that will teach you the techniques of search engine optimization so that you understand how to build true relevancy into your page. Once you learn these skills, you will have what it takes to attract your ideal target audience to your Web site.
You'll have the traffic that has already been searching for you and that traffic, converts to sales." John Alexander: "Thanks for your time chatting with us today Greg Aldea." I suppose it would be good to let our readers know the Web address of your next educational TNT Workshop, wouldn't it?Greg Aldea: "Sure John, the one I will be conducting is at http://www.tntworkshops.com or for other locations the site is http://www.tnt-workshops.com ."About Greg Aldea:Greg Aldea has been a Professional Search Engine Optimizer and Internet Marketer for over six years and has over thirty years experience in business marketing. Study Shows Additional Health Problems Caused by Drug Addiction
A study funded in part by the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA) that was published in the Archives of Internal Medicine looked at nearly 750 people that entered an HMO addiction treatment program. The data gathered regarding other social and medical conditions was compared to over 3,600 other patients who were also members of the HMO but who were not identified as having an addiction. The study found that those receiving treatment for substance abuse were more likely to have the byproducts of lower back pain, headaches, arthritis and of course depression and anxiety, which are common with most drug users. Though this study has only recently been done, it has been known for decades that somatic illnesses can result from the ingestion of toxins such as drugs, both legal and illicit. Many people throughout society have some type of nutritional deficiencies.
Since drug use depletes the body of essential vitamins and minerals their overall health condition naturally worsens,...
